Senator Hassan Files For Re-Election, Rallies with Supporters in Concord

Friday, June 10, 2022

Running on her record of getting results for New Hampshire, Senator Maggie Hassan today filed for re-election to the United States Senate at the New Hampshire Secretary of State’s office in Concord.

After filing, Senator Hassan rallied with supporters in Concord, where she spoke about her work to take on corporate special interests like Big Pharma and Big Oil to lower costs for Granite Staters. The Senator also highlighted her work to deliver for New Hampshire by leading bipartisan legislation to ban the practice of surprise medical billing and negotiate the bipartisan infrastructure law.

“In the U.S. Senate, my focus has always been on listening directly to Granite Staters and working to deliver on the priorities that matter to them,” said Senator Hassan. “From working across the aisle to ban surprise medical billing to negotiating the bipartisan infrastructure law, I have fought to deliver for the people of New Hampshire. I know there is still so much work to do — from lowering prescription drug prices to bringing down gas prices — and I’m running for re-election to keep getting results for New Hampshire.”

“Senator Hassan has been a relentless fighter for our state — and I am so proud we have her in the United States Senate working for New Hampshire,” said New Hampshire Senate Democratic Leader Donna Soucy while introducing Sen. Hassan. “Senator Hassan doesn’t shy away from tough fights — and she will take on whoever she needs to in order to get wins for the people of New Hampshire.”

The rally today in Concord is one of several campaign stops that Senator Hassan is making across the state this week. On Saturday, ahead of filing for re-election, Senator Hassan met with North Country leaders in Berlin, and later today she will head to Keene to speak with supporters. She will join Mayor Andrew Hosmer for the start of Bike Week in Laconia tomorrow.

Senator Hassan is an independent leader with a record of getting results for the people of New Hampshire. The nonpartisan Lugar Center recently named Senator Hassan the most bipartisan Senator in the country. She was also a key negotiator of the bipartisan infrastructure law, which will help repair the state’s crumbling roads and bridges, as well as expand high-speed internet to every home in the state. She worked with a Republican to take on the entire health care industry to ban the absurd practice of surprise medical billing. And now, she is fighting to lower costs for Granite Staters by working to suspend the federal gas tax and standing up to Big Pharma to bring down prescription drug prices.
