NEW TV AD: Senator Hassan Has a Record of Taking on Big Pharma to Lower Prescription Drug Prices

Wednesday, October 19, 2022

Maggie for NH today released a new television ad, “Hard to Beat,” where Senator Hassan discusses her record of taking on Big Pharma to lower prescription drug costs for Granite Staters.

Senator Hassan has been a leader in the fight against Big Pharma for years. This summer, she took on Big Pharma and passed a law that will put money back in Granite Staters’ pockets by allowing Medicare to negotiate the cost of prescription drugs, capping out-of-pocket drug costs for seniors and capping insulin costs at $35 a month for seniors.

Watch “Hard to Beat

“Senator Hassan took on Big Pharma for the people of New Hampshire — and now because of her efforts, Granite Staters will see lower prescription drug costs and have more money in their pockets,” Maggie for NH spokesperson Kevin Donohoe said. “While Senator Hassan is fighting to bring down costs, Don Bolduc opposed these efforts and instead would toe the line for Big Pharma.”

While Senator Hassan has led the fight to lower prescription drug costs, Don Bolduc has demonstrated that he would be a reliable yes vote for Big Pharma’s agenda. He said he would vote “hell no” to the landmark law Senator Hassan helped pass that would lower prescription drug costs and leave seniors and families to struggle with steep medical bills.

Senator Maggie Hassan: It wasn’t easy; taking on the big drug companies to break their hold on outrageous prescription prices. Now, we’ve made progress: passing the new law that lets Medicare negotiate for lower medicine prices and caps out of pocket costs for New Hampshire seniors. This will save taxpayers billions of dollars and start loosening Big Pharma’s grip on drug prices. I’m Maggie Hassan and I approve this message because no special interest should ever stand in the way of lower costs for you.
