Maggie for NH today released “Extreme” – a new digital ad slamming Don Bolduc for promising to end Social Security and Medicare. The ad features footage of Don Bolduc promising to ensure that “we no longer have Social Security” and saying that he wants to cut “$2 trillion from Social Security.”
“Don Bolduc’s extreme agenda of ending Social Security and Medicare as we know it threatens the health and economic security of seniors across New Hampshire,” said Maggie for NH spokesperson Kevin Donohoe. “It’s clear that Don Bolduc’s out-of-touch priorities would cause serious harm to Granite State seniors.”
The digital ad comes a day after new reporting from Politico revealed that Don Bolduc told supporters during a town hall in Pembroke in August that he would end Medicare as we know it and take away care from the 307,000 Granite Staters who are currently enrolled in the program.
Bolduc has a long record of wanting to end Social Security and Medicare. In addition to promising to end Social Security altogether and cut $2 trillion from the program, Bolduc has said that Social Security is “bankrupting” the country, and has endorsed a scheme to raise the retirement age and slash the Cost-of-Living Adjustment. He has even said that Social Security was “for a different time, for a different place.” Bolduc has also called for cutting $1.2 trillion from Medicare, taking away hard-earned benefits from seniors all across the country. He also opposed allowing Medicare to negotiate prescription drug prices, which would lower costs for seniors.
