Today, Maggie for NH announced the Veterans for Maggie Leadership Council, a group of leaders in New Hampshire’s veteran community who will help highlight Senator Hassan’s strong record of delivering for service members, veterans, and military families in New Hampshire and across the country.
“Through their courage and sacrifice, our veterans have kept our country safe, and as civilians, they have continued to help keep our country strong and free,” Senator Maggie Hassan said. “I am honored to have the support of so many of our state’s leaders in New Hampshire’s veteran community, and I look forward to continuing to partner with them to deliver for veterans in New Hampshire and across the country.”
“Senator Hassan has been a valuable partner in securing better care, jobs, and benefits for our veterans,” said Lieutenant Colonel Val Scarborough, USMC (ret.). “She understands how important it is that we always have veterans’ backs, and I am proud to support her for re-election.”
“Veterans often face significant health challenges upon returning home, both physical and mental, and Senator Hassan understands this,” said Colonel Peter Duffy, U.S. Army (ret.). “She has been an important advocate for veterans for her entire career in public service, and we need to do everything we can to re-elect her this November.”

Background on Senator Hassan’s Record of Delivering for New Hampshire Veterans
Senator Hassan has a long record of standing up for New Hampshire’s veterans, and as a member of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee, she is fighting to ensure that veterans receive the care and support that they have earned and deserve.
-
The Senator worked across the aisle to develop and pass the PACT Act, which is now law, to ensure that veterans exposed to toxic substances during their service receive the care and benefits that they need and deserve.
-
Senator Hassan and colleagues from both parties successfully worked to keep VA clinics open in Littleton and Conway by stopping a VA proposal to close them.
-
President Biden signed into law Senator Hassan’s bipartisan Hire Veteran Health Heroes Act to help connect service members with jobs in health care after they finish their service.
-
Senator Hassan has supported year over year pay increases for service members, worked to lower taxes for Gold Star families, and is leading efforts to help more veterans get connected with mental health support during their transition to civilian life.
