ICYMI: In Claremont, Senator Hassan Joins Mayor Girard for a Downtown Tour, Stops at The Ink Factory
Claremont, NH – Senator Maggie Hassan visited Claremont on Friday for a downtown tour with Mayor Dale Girard and community leaders, where they discussed the revitalization that has recently taken place on Pleasant Street and how it will help boost local businesses.
Following the downtown walk, Senator Hassan stopped at The Ink Factory, where she met with owner Jeff Barrette, took a tour of its printing facility, and received a specially designed graphic t-shirt from the company.
“In Claremont, community members and small businesses are working together to build a stronger city and a more vibrant economy that lifts up everyone,” said Senator Hassan. “It was an honor to tour Pleasant Street and The Ink Factory to see how the Claremont community is working to keep their city and our state moving forward.”
Before stopping in Claremont, Senator Hassan visited small businesses in Manchester, Exeter, Nashua, and Lebanon. More than 140 small business leaders, including the owner of The Ink Factory, have endorsed Senator Hassan for re-election.
Senator Hassan is fighting to support small businesses in New Hampshire and across the country. In the last year, she has worked to pass legislation – that is now law – to provide small businesses with the resources that they need to succeed in the 21st century innovation economy, including:
-
The Inflation Reduction Act, which includes Senator Hassan’s bipartisan measure to double the federal research and development tax credit for small business and startups, building on her work as Governor to double New Hampshire’s research and development tax credit and extend it permanently.
-
The bipartisan innovation and competition bill, which will bring down costs, help the United States outcompete countries like China, invest in American research and manufacturing, and expand workforce development for technology and manufacturing fields. Senator Hassan joined a bipartisan group of colleagues to first introduce this critical legislation.
-
The bipartisan infrastructure law, which Senator Hassan helped negotiate, is helping New Hampshire businesses thrive by expanding high-speed internet to every community in the state and improving our roads, bridges, and ports so that businesses can move their goods more efficiently.
