“Fight and Never Back Down”: In New Ad, Senator Hassan Stands Against a McConnell Nationwide Abortion Ban
This morning, Senator Maggie Hassan “addresse[d] the Supreme Court’s abortion ruling head on” with a new ad making clear that she will “fight and never back down” against a Mitch McConnell’s nationwide abortion ban. It’s “the first ad from a Senate candidate in a battleground state directly addressing the overturning of Roe” and received coverage from Politico, NBC News, The Washington Post, Punchbowl, National Journal and more.

Sen. Maggie Hassan, D-N.H., is up with a new spot where she addresses the Supreme Court’s abortion ruling head on, promising “I will fight and never back down.”

The new ad features nothing but Hassan talking directly to the camera and it’s one of the first from a battleground incumbent focused solely on the issue since the Court’s ruling overturned a federal right to abortion and kicked the issue to the states.

“The Supreme Court has taken away a woman’s most fundamental freedom: control over her own body. This decision catapults us backwards,” Hassan says.

Sen. Maggie Hassan, D-N.H., launched a new TV ad Thursday morning, speaking directly to the camera and saying the Court’s decision “catapults us backwards,” and vowing to fight for abortion rights.

It’s still not clear who Hassan will face in the fall, since New Hampshire’s primary is not until September, but her race is expected to be competitive. The Cook Political Report rates the race Lean Democrat.
